Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a tactical role-playing video game developed by Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo’s Kou Shibusawa and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It was released worldwide on July 26, 2019. This is the sixteenth game in the Fire Emblem series, with the first installment being Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, which was initially released in 2007.
Storyline
Three Houses is set on the continent of Fódlan, a vast land divided into three rival empires that are currently at peace. You play as the main character, default named Byleth, who can be either male or female. As a mercenary turned teacher, you must join one of the three academies representing the three empires. Byleth and their students will become entangled in this power struggle.
Gameplay
Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a tactical role-playing game. Players control their warriors to battle against opposing forces. The game not only focuses on battles but also engages players with the surrounding settings and various activities beyond combat.
Academy Phase
During this phase, you will train and upgrade yourself and your team. You can learn more about tactics and in-game skills. Additionally, you can recruit and train your warriors. This phase mainly focuses on increasing your strength and knowledge for the game.
Combat Phase
You and your warriors will be placed in various terrains, where you must command your units to defeat the enemy. While there are many tactical games with similar battlefield simulations, what sets this game apart is that during battle, your warriors can exchange weapons with each other to counter the enemy.
